Asia Art Archive

As a non-profit reference library of contemporary Asian art, the Asia Art Archive features a collection of books, catalogs, clippings and audio-visual materials. Its 15,000 items are free and open to the public for viewings on site. Free educational lectures by artists and curators are held periodically for the public.

Asia Society

Asian Cultural Council

Founded by John D. Rockefeller and based in New York, the council offers 100 grants a year. Chan Kaige received a grant in 1986 after his first film Yellow Earth and another in 1988 for the New York University film school. Grants are made in the following fields: archaeology, architecture (design, theory and history), art history, art and architectural conservation, crafts, dance, film, museology, music, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, theater and video.

Asian Youth Orchestra

Conducted by Richard Pontzious, the orchestra recruits young musicians from all over Asia to attend a six-week summer program. Participation is free except for a registration fee, including a three-week rehearsal camp and three weeks of performances from mid-July to late August. One hundred musicians ages 15-25 are chosen to study with faculty members from the Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Pittsburgh symphony orchestras. Auditions are held each year in February and March in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.

Chinese Muslim Cultural And Fraternal Association

Chung Ying Theatre Company
