Cultural Association Founded by John D. Rockefeller and based in New York, the council offers 100 grants a year. Chan Kaige received a grant in 1986 after his first film Yellow Earth and another in 1988 for the New York University film school. Grants are made in the following fields: archaeology, architecture (design, theory and history), art history, art and architectural conservation, crafts, dance, film, museology, music, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, theater and video.
