Cultural Association Conducted by Richard Pontzious, the orchestra recruits young musicians from all over Asia to attend a six-week summer program. Participation is free except for a registration fee, including a three-week rehearsal camp and three weeks of performances from mid-July to late August. One hundred musicians ages 15-25 are chosen to study with faculty members from the Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Pittsburgh symphony orchestras. Auditions are held each year in February and March in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
