Named after former governor David Wilson, this 78km trail stretches from Stanley Gap Road to Taikoo Shing, and across the harbor to Nam Chung in the northern New Territories. It's split into 10 stages. Stage 1 is a very difficult, 4.8km route from Stanley Gap Road via Twin Peaks, Repulse Bay Pass and Violet Hill to Wong Nai Chung Reservoir. Stage 2 is a fairly difficult 6.6km climb up to Jardine's Lookout past Mount Butler before walking down Sir Cecil's Ride and Mount Parker Road to Quarry Bay. Stage 3 starts across the harbor at Yau Tong. It's a fairly difficult 9.3km around Devil's Hill to Tseng Lan Shue, via Ma Yau Tong, Clear Water Bay Road, Tai Ngau Wu, Au Tau and Sham Long Village. Stage 4 is a very difficult 8km section to Sha Tin Au. Stage 5 is an easy 7.4km passing Lion Rock to Tai Po Road. Stage 6 is a fairly difficult 5.3km walk via Smuggler's Ridge to Shing Mun Reservoir. Stage 7 is an easy 10.2km through Lead Mine Pass to Yuen Tun Ha. Stage 8 is a very difficult 9km walk to Kowloon Hang Shang via Cloudy Hill and Shui Wai. Stage 9 is also very difficult, a 10.2km climb up Pat Sin Leng via Hok Tau Reservoir, Wong Leng and Lai Pek Shan. Finally, Stage 10 is a fairly difficult 6.8km along Wang Tsat Ancient Path to Nam Chung.
