Want to see volcano-forged arches of rock up close and personal while you work your lats? Then get on a kayak and head to Hong Kong's many outlying islands. Most of Kayak and Hike's members are newcomers. They usually meet on the Sai Kung waterfront at 10am on weekends, although weekday trips can be arranged, then board fast-pursuit craft and zip out to the beaches and interesting bits of coastline to unload the kayaks. Cost varies with the trips, which might be to Ma On Shan or Tai Long Wan. Hiking, power boating and helicopter trips are also available.
